To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications for GS-05: Bachelors degree OR 1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 Grade Level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. Examples include: Working with direct supervision and review of work; assisting other IT Specialists and providing basic IT needs, assisting with implementing Automated Data Processing (ADP) Systems, providing technical assistance to telecommunication systems. Minimum Qualifications for GS-07: 1 Full year of Graduate Education or superior academic achievement OR 1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 Grade Level. Examples include: Assisting IT Specialists and providing basic IT needs, assisting with implementing Automated Data Processing (ADP) Systems, providing technical assistance to telecommunication systems. Minimum Qualifications for GS-09: Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree OR 1 Year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 Grade Level. Examples include: Maintaining Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS), email and Personal Computer (PC) systems, installing and managing new ADP technology, maintaining voice and data communications network. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
The incumbent of this position serves as an Information Technology Specialist for Computers and Telecommunications for the Information Technology (IT) department at the Cass Lake Service Unit (CLSU), Cass Lake, MN. The incumbent is responsible for technical support of the CLSU. Travel within and outside the service unit area by government owned vehicle (GOV) is required. The employee is required to possess and maintain a valid unrestricted state drivers license.
