Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Formal education will include an associate’s degree or higher in recreation or related field or 3 years of managing/assisting an OAP program and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational equipment, rules and procedures. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must have a current nationally recognized certification in basic first aid training and CPR but prefer Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness First Aid. Must hold at least one certification in either Swift Water Rescue, ACA – Standup Paddleboarding or Kayak Guide or must be able to obtain ACA -SUP or Kayaking within 6 months of employment. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
