Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One-year specialized experience such as: (1) checking library materials in and out; (2) registering and deleting library patron records in automation system; and (3) assisting customers with finding library materials, references and program information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Manages and Organizes Information Oral Communication Technical Competence
About the Position: This is a Library Technician position which provides technical support to the librarian or similar type of information specialist by performing a wide variety of tasks which furnish direct services to the public and technical services.
