Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience for the GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes all of the following: timekeeping or travel; preparing and editing correspondence; and create or maintain records and databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Specialized Experience for the GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes all of the following: interpreting and advising on administrative policies and processes; and utilizing various office automation software programs to create and edit formal correspondence, reports, or other documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Specialized Experience for the GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes all of the following: planning and managing the daily administrative functions of an office; using an automated financial management system; and performing varying office assignments in areas of financial support, personnel matters, travel coordination, time and attendance, or other areas of office support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. About the Position: Serves as a Management and Program Assistant for the Operations Division Administrative Officer providing a variety of services essential to support the efficient functioning of an organization with approximately 350 employees dispersed over numerous projects and field offices in the Pacific Northwest.
