You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Applying knowledge of military analysis, options, and plans on matters related to civilian harm mitigation and response issues impacting partnered and multinational military operations; Evaluating competing priorities and providing military advice; Conducting projects and studies leading to development of policies, products, and initiatives; Compiling inputs into Congressional reports, legislative documents and updating/integrating Congressional briefings with civilian and policy counterparts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Serves as a Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response Action Officer within the Joint Chiefs of Staff providing direct support to areas of implementation of the SecDef-directed Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response-Action Plan, the forthcoming DoD Instruction on Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response (CHMR), and other civilian harm mitigation and response issues impacting all Combatant Command Areas of Responsibility.
