Wage and Hour Division - Department of Labor

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-07, in the Federal Service. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such position. Examples of specialized experience are: · Analyzing and interpreting administrative procedures in order to provide best practices; · Utilizing advanced functions of various office software packages (e.g. word processing, databases, spreadsheets, electronic mail or graphics) to produce correspondence, reports, statistical summaries in conformance with regulations, grammar, format, and special policies; · Entering and processing time and attendance records; · Utilizing laws, policies, regulations and precedents on administrative programs to include management analysis, manpower analysis, administrative policies, human resources, payroll/timekeeping, travel arrangements, in order to provide advice and guidance to management and employees on process improvements and reports; · Communicating with internal and external contacts to provide and/or obtain information; · Tracking and preparing paperwork related to new hires, maintains phone listings and organizational charts. -OR- Graduate Education: A Master’s or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LLB. or J.D., if related. -OR- A combination of graduate education and experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements of time-in-grade (52 weeks at the next lower grade), time-after-competitive-appointment (90 days), and minimum qualifications (52 weeks equivalent to the next lower grade in federal service). These requirements must be met within 30 days of 11/13/2024 the announcement closing date.
