Only experience and education obtained by the closing date 11/08/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification. You may qualify at the GS-04 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements: A. I have six months of general experience and six months of specialized experience. General experience is (1) any type of work that demonstrated your ability to perform the work of the position, and (2) specialized experience that provided a familiarity with biological work. Qualifying specialized experience includes all of the following: experience performing animal husbandry duties for small wild mammals housed in captivity, such as cage cleaning, feeding and watering, as well as providing treatment for minor illnesses or diseases; taking and recording scientific measurements for small wild mammals housed in captivity; and keeping detailed and precise records on animal conditions in order to report data. OR B. I have successfully completed 2 years of study above high school at an accredited college or university that included at least 12 semester hours in any combination of courses such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture or mathematics; OR C. I have a combination of education and experience as listed above. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This position is a Biological Science Technician, GS- 0404-4 working in Eufaula, Alabama for the R4 Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge. This is a temporary position expected to last NTE 1040 Hours.
