Basic Requirements: Successful completion of a full four-year degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR Alternative Requirements: Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in the paragraph above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. Specialized Experience for J-Band: In addition to the basic/alternative qualification requirements identified above, all applicants must demonstrate one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (FV-I or FG/GS-13). Specialized experience is experience which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or directly related to work of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes: Skilled in data mining, data transformation (ETL), data analysis, and predictive data modeling. Python coding language skills. This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Service Center (SC) Business Intelligence Team. Serves as a Data Scientist on a cross-functional team responsible for conducting historical and predictive trend analysis, metrics development, integrated products and work activities that directly impact the tactical and strategic objectives of the service area (SA) organizational units that often have impact on the objectives of the FAA as a whole.
