Aviation Technical Systems Specialist (Cost Estimation Lead)

To qualify for this position at the FV-J level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is: Leverages extensive experience as a technical lead to coordinate and direct a team of cost estimators on intricate projects involving aviation infrastructure, systems, and programs. Applies advanced knowledge of cost-estimating principles, theories, and concepts to develop comprehensive life cycle cost (LCC) estimates for proposed modifications to the National Airspace System. Creates and maintains detailed cost models for various Federal Aviation Administration projects, incorporating labor, materials, equipment, inflation, and risk factors Applicants should provide examples of Specialized Experience in their Work History. The incumbent serves as the Cost Estimation Lead and acts as a technical point of contact for cost estimates and assigned activities related to the establishment, modernization, sustainment, and operation of National Airspace System (NAS) facilities and equipment in support of Facility and Equipment (F&E) and Operations (Ops) funded programs.
