However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Worker ~ without more than normal supervision repair punch press, lathes, drill presses and electric hand tools. Assist in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment and systems such as oil and lube pumping stations, vehicle exhaust systems, large overhead sectional, roll up and bi-fold doors, cranes and hoists Also repairs steel security doors, playground equipment such as swings, and chain link fencing. Use hand tools to form the sheet metal pieces into required shape. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. – Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend, and climb for sustained periods of time. Frequently handles objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally is required to carry heavier objects. Working Conditions: Works on dirty greasy equipment in cramped quarters both indoors and out in all types of weather on slippery or uneven surfaces. Exposed to excessive noise and possibility of cuts and bruises from moving parts, sharp edges and power tools. Required wearing protective safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, and respirator. May be required to work in asbestos contaminated areas.
