Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Welder without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex welding processes using electric, acetylene and inert gas shielded welding processes to ensure combat vehicles are properly repaired. I determine work methods and establish priorities to complete work assignments in accordance with oral and written instructions. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Screen Out Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Metals Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Physical Effort: Work involves standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and crawling. Occasionally work is performed in awkward and hard to reach places. Frequently lifts items weighing 20-50 pounds and occasionally items over 65 pounds. Working Conditions: Most of work is performed in shop buildings that are drafty and noisy. Occasionally performs work outside being exposed to weather extremes. Incumbent is exposed to dirt, grease, odors, smoke, fumes, heat, flying sparks, the glare of torches, and heated materials; possibility of eye injury, electrical shock, broken bones from falls off scaffolds/ladders, and the chance of cuts when working with sharp objects; and discomforts of wearing protective clothing, gloves, flash shield, respirator, etc.

About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The depot is the largest Employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
