To qualify for the Payroll Technician, PG -0544-7/8, you must meet the following requirements: ****Applicants may be selected from either PG-07 or PG-08 grade level.*** Specialized Experience for Grade level PG-0544- 07: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-0544-06. level in federal service or equivalent. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: (1) Experiences with automated Payroll system.; (2) Assists with processing a variety of actions for employees covered under different pay plans.; and (3) Reviews and selects pay methods and procedures for pay and leave actions. Specialized Experience for Grade level PG-0544- 08 level: Appilcants must possess one year of specialized experience at the PG-07 or equivalent grade level or higher. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: (1) Utilizes financial management regulations and policies related to payroll functions and automated Payroll system; (2) Process a variety of actions for employees covered under different pay plans; (3) Reviews and selects methods and procedures for pay and leave actions. (4) Utilizes National Finance Center(NFC) applications such as: (Epicweb, SPPSweb, empower HR, NFC Mainframe, Insight, or Reporting Center). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
