POSITION IS ANNOUNCED AS A STANDING REGISTER (OPEN CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT): First cutoff date to evaluate candidates will be November 21st, 2024. Application packages received after this date will be evaluated bi-weekly or upon request of management. Application packages must be complete at the time referral certificates are issued. Final application disposition will be completed once all positions have been filled or the announcement reaches the end of the open period stated in the announcement. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Machine Tool Operator without more than normal supervision which includes: 1) Operating machines and/or mechanical equipment; 2) Use of basic measuring instruments to check accuracy of dimensions; 3) Follow written instructions and/or sketches to ensure accuracy of a product. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. PHYSICAL EFFORT: The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending and stooping. In addition, the work requires lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds with assistance of other workers of lifting devices. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside in all types of weather. Inside work areas can range from well lit, climatically controlled to poorly illuminated work areas. Exposed to noise and dust from power saws, hammers, nailing machines, and related equipment. Subject to bruises, cuts, and other injuries from using hand and power tools. Safety equipment and protective devices are used to minimize hazards.
