Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Motor Vehicle Operator without more than normal supervision to include:(1) Operating a variety of motor vehicles such as: sedans, pick-up trucks, and vans to transport authorized personnel, material, and/or equipment; (2) Determining which routes to take due to the size and weight of the vehicle and/or the laws restricting the use of some roads by some vehicles; and (3) Skill in driving techniques such as: turning, backing in congested/narrow locations, operating in congested traffic, negotiating steep grades and applying dual brakes in order to prevent traffic accidents. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles) Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Related to Mobile Equipment Operation) Ability to Operate Safely (Non-motor Vehicles) Operation of Motor Vehicles Reliability and Dependability Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical effort is used in reaching, bending, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls, put on chains, attach tractors to trailers and tie down cargo. Occasionally lifts 50 to 100 pounds in performance of duties. WORKING CONDITIONS: Operates vehicles in all types of traffic, road and weather conditions and is exposed to the possibility of serious injuries from accidents.
