In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-11, you must have: a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level Supporting engineering, planning, or design support to fulfill project objectives related to architecture; Supporting coordination tasks to fulfill broader project objectives; Supporting in facility design, planning or construction activities. OR b) Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field OR c) Completed 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree in an appropriate field OR d) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a), b) and c) above OR e) Registered to practice architecture by one of the State registration boards, using standards in compliance with the basic minimum provisions recommended by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level: Coordinating engineering, planning, or design support to fulfill project objectives related to architecture; Coordinating tasks to fulfill broader project objectives; Assisting in facility design, planning or construction activities. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Leading or managing engineering, planning, or design support to fulfill project objectives related to architecture; Leading or managing tasks to fulfill broader project objectives; Leading or managing facilities design, planning, or construction activities. You will serve as a Facilities Project Manager with special emphasis on architectural features such as interior renovations, life safety code, and building envelops. The work includes the identification of future Center needs; assisting in the preparation of engineering and budgetary documentation; reviewing engineering designs; and acting as project manager on facility design and construction projects.
