Education Technician

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: GL-06 and GL-07: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GL-05 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. OR Experience: GL-06: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. Experience at this level includes the demonstrated ability to create and maintain files and records; establish suspense systems. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience in maintaining and controlling education/training records and files, processing incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, memorandum and reports ensuring all related reporting requirements are met. Experience utilizing a variety of automated or computer-based systems in extracting and compiling data. Experience handling requests for information, providing technical support in budgetary and time and attendance areas, and compiling statistical reports. GL-07: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. Experience at this level may include various skills and knowledge gained in educational programs through planning, conducting, or evaluating educational and training programs. Applicants at this level should be able to develop and compile various complex reports, identify and rectify anomalies, and provide summaries based upon data. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience preparing spreadsheets and reports used for educational or other related purposes and assisting in the implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of educational programs. Experience conducting educational surveys, evaluating training programs, developing training materials for training courses or training programs. Making recommendations for improvements, assisting teachers and instructors. Experience providing technical support and have working knowledge of audio-visual equipment, reproduction machines, and business-related equipment.
