Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Planning multi-trade work operations involving electrical, electronics, carpentry, masonry, plumbing and painting; estimating time, materials and equipment required to complete maintenance and repair projects; organizing work assignments where judgment as to individual abilities are involved; evaluating work and providing guidance through interpreting oral and written instructions for facility maintenance and repair; AND performing quality control checks on subordinate workers, identifying problem areas and making recommendations for improvements. I train co-workers in performing all trades work associated with maintenance duties. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Lead or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Efforts: Employee works in shops and at job sites. Strenuous physical exertion is often required. Employee may lift and move materials up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally lifts or moves heavier items with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers. Employee is required to stand, stoop, and bend. Work is frequently done from ladders, scaffolding and platforms. Working Conditions: Employee is exposed to moderate or high noise levels, sawdust, glue fumes, and other hazards associated with woodworking and related power equipment when performing work in the shop area. Work at job sites exposes employee to weather conditions and the hazards of working on and around scaffolds and ladders. Employee is subject to cuts, bruises and contusions. May be required to work in confined areas such as crawl spaces and attics, which may be dusty and dirty. Protective devices, such as, but not limited to, ear plugs, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, hard hat and steel toes safety shoes are required.

About the Position: Serves as supervisor over the Projects and Repair Section exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations involving up to 16 authorized subordinate workers in all crafts/trades and one assistant foreman at the full foreman range of responsibility.
