To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least (1) one year of general experience. General Experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. OR (2) two years of education above the high school level. GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least (1) one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Interviewing patients to obtain demographic and third party insurance information; greeting patients; maintaining logs on referrals and reports; knowledge of available health resources and programs, medical terminology and medical care practices. OR (4) four years of education above the high school level. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least (1) one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Receiving and directing patients and visitors, answering routine inquiries and making appropriate referral of questions concerning patients’ condition, use and apply medical terminology, determining eligibility requirements for Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Insurance enforcing and working with laws and regulations related to the confidentiality of medical records and the release of information from medical records, computerized data entry and information systems. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is under the direct supervision of the Supervisory Nurse for the Wanblee Health Center. The incumbent will provide routine support duties in a clerical setting to obtain patient information. Will use multiple office automated information software in the course of work assignments. This position will support the Federal Governments response efforts to COVID-19.
