INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER

IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS, (see Education section), your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience utilizing shipboard main and auxiliary systems including main propulsion systems, electrical generation and distribution systems, heating ventilation and air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, firefighting systems, cargo systems, fuel systems, lubrication systems, communications systems, seawater systems, auxiliary boiler systems, piping systems, ships structure, coating systems, habitability, etc. *Experience utilizing a broad range of marine propulsion systems, including gas turbine systems, steam turbine systems, high/medium/slow speed diesel systems and diesel electric systems. *Experience acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in ship design, operation, maintenance, repair and modernization and applying advanced theory, concepts, principles and practices of marine and naval engineering and naval architecture to resolve unique or complex marine life cycle management issues. *Experience reviewing plans, specifications, preliminary engineering reports, design drawings, and specifications for ship maintenance, repair, and alteration, shipboard operating instructions, policies and guides for maintenance management, and providing consultative services on the full range of ship machinery and structural systems.
