You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following qualification requirement: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing specialized safety and occupational health training courses to employees; scheduling surveys of facilities to identify and evaluate the safety and occupational health risk potential; investigating safety incidents and events and making timely reports and monitoring for resolutions; and participating in the development of new procedures to identify and control hazardous situations in the workplace. You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following qualification requirement: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: overseeing an Environment of Care program, which includes reviewing, inspecting, conducting risk assessment, gap analysis, and corrective actions to maintain all safety and regulatory standards for the environment where healthcare is delivered; assisting in developing complex policies and operating guidance to implement environmental safety programs (e.g., remediation standards and procedures, guidance on health/environmental risk assessment); evaluating effectiveness of environmental safety programs; and preparing reports which identify management problems and recommending changes. This Safety and Occupational Health Manager position serves as a senior advisor to the Clinical Center Chief Executive, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Officer, overseeing the Environment of Care accreditation program, which covers the breadth of review, inspection, risk assessment, gap analysis, and corrective actions to maintain all safety and regulatory standards for the environment where healthcare is delivered at the Clinical Center.
