Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either “full-time” (or “40 hours a week”) or “part-time” with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Examples of specialized experience include: assisting with evaluating or assessing the quality of services such as food service, overnight lodging, transportation, guided activities, or retail sales; participating in quality control of services or goods provided by a business or organization; collecting, tracking, compiling, and maintaining data using a variety of computer software applications. You must include hours worked in your resume. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least one full academic year (18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours) of graduate level education in business administration, economics, marketing, finance, or other position-related fields, which provided me with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. You must include transcripts. -OR- Superior Academic Achievement: A bachelor’s degree in a directly related field such as business administration or finance AND Superior Academic Achievement. (Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. (1) Class standing–Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. (2) Grade-point average (G.P.A.)–Applicants must have a grade-point average of: (A) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or (B) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; OR (3) Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society. Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. These honor societies are listed in the Association of College Honor Societies: Booklet of Information (1992-95) and/or Baird’s Manual of American College Fraternities (1991). Membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision. For example, 6 months of the specialized experience described above (50% of the experience requirement), and 9 semester hours of directly related graduate level college study in an accredited institution (50% of the qualifying education) may be a qualifying combination. To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: ensuring compliance with contracts, permits, authorizations, or other documents governing the relationship between parties; evaluating or assessing the quality of services such as food service, overnight lodging, transportation, guided activities, or retail sales; participating in quality control of services or goods provided by a business or organization; collecting, tracking, compiling, and maintaining data using a variety of computer software applications; managing relationships with third parties in complex situations. You must include hours per week worked on your resume. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least a master’s or equivalent graduate degree with a major in business administration, economics, marketing, finance, or other position-related fields; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or a LL.B. or J.D., if related. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. You must include transcripts. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. ICTAP/CTAP Statement: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Well qualified means that the applicant meets the following: OPM qualification standards for the position; all selective placement factors, where applicable; special qualifying conditions that OPM has approved for the position, where applicable; is physically qualified with reasonable accommodation, where appropriate to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position upon entry; and is rated by the organization at least at the well qualified level on all competencies. This position is located in Death Valley National Park, in the Management Branch Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately late August to early August, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
