Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service: Leading or managing a team of engineer technicians responsible for the fabrication of aerospace and facility hardware; Providing oversight and guidance for clear and defensible program/project/functional budgets (e.g., plans, drawings, etc.) within in a competitive research and development manufacturing environment following the Agency’s guidelines; Overseeing or leading technicians on the proper use of Numerically Controlled (N/C) manufacturing equipment. Serves as an Office Chief within the Applied Manufacturing Division (RM). Leads project responsibility for the planning, value engineering, design engineering, fabrication, acquisition and delivery of parts, components and assemblies of aerospace vehicle models, experimental test equipment, laboratory apparatus and related research facility equipment. Serves as a technical specialist and a key source of information for assigned areas.
