Only experience and education obtained by 11/25/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess both the Basic Requirement and Minimum Qualification. Basic Requirement: Possess a degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Possess a combination of education and experience which includes courses equivalent to a major in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualification [GS-12] Possess at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience includes: (1) Verbally communicates complex fish and wildlife conservation issues to agency officials, internal colleagues, or external stakeholders; (2) Uses various written communication methods to persuasively articulate concerns, conclusions, recommendations, and positions on fish and wildlife conservation issues; (3) Demonstrated experience with internal and external problem solving and implementation of Integrated Natural Resource Management Plans (INRMP); and (4) Works with partners and stakeholders with varying goals to find mutually agreed upon solutions for complex matters related to fish and wildlife conservation. Note: This experience must be clearly reflected in your resume. Minimum Qualification [GS-13] Possess at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience includes: (1) Communicates with agency officials, internal colleagues, partners and stakeholders with varying goals to find mutually agreed upon solutions for complex land management issues; (2) Implements Federal regulations, policies, and requirements for natural resource conservation and protection associated with Federal lands; (3) Demonstrated experience with internal and external problem solving and implementation of Integrated Natural Resource Management Plans; (4) Develop significant and innovative changes, methods, and measures to resolve unusual natural resources problems faced by the Service, the Department of Defense (DOD) and partners, and creating solutions for long-term improvements; (5) Creates initiatives which increase program efficiencies across land ownership boundaries; and (6) Develops creative and practical approaches to species management and recovery within multi-use environments such as military lands. Note: This experience must be clearly reflected in your resume. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is a BIOLOGIST, GS- 0401-12/13 working for the R8-ARD-Ecological Services. The salary will be based upon duty station and locality pay once selected. Locality tables may be found at: Federal Pay Tables 2024
