Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. This Position is being filled at the GS-07/08 target GS-09 level. Duties described reflect the full performance GS-09 level. Duties performed in a developmental capacity will receive guidance and oversight from lead and or supervisor. Management may select at either grade with the full performance being at the GS-09. GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience performing clerical and technical work in support budget, accounting, auditing, payroll, fiscal, and/or financial management functions which includes processing pay and/or leave documents or verifying data related to pay and leave records; utilize an automated payroll software system to input and/or retrieve pay or leave data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as such as accounting, business, or a related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-08 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing clerical and technical work which includes researching and reconciling personnel pay problems; providing technical assistance to employees regarding attendance entry and time keeping; using various automated systems such as: Automated Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS), and/or Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS) or similar automated systems to retrieve and enter pay and leave data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes processing civilian pay and leave actions; researching , reconciling and resolving pay and leave issues; maintaining pay and or leave records; and utilizing a variety of automated systems such as: Automated Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS), and/or Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS) or similar automated systems to complete pay actions, correct errors, and resolve complex pay situations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Concepts, Policies and Principles of Payroll Decision Support Financial Management Systems GS-07: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). GS-08: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). About the Position: his position is located in the Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma is a diverse city nestled between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Tacoma is located on the shores of Commencement Bay, within pristine eyesight of Mount Rainier. Will serve as the Madigans Army Medical Centers (MAMC ) and the Puget Sound Markets subject matter expert (SME) regarding civilian pay and the Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS) system.
