HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION/RECRUITMENT)

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Interpreting and applying recruitment and placement laws, regulations, policies, and practices to provide advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, employees, and applicants; Performing work that involves recruiting, examining, selecting and placing employees; Utilizing human resources policies and practices to advise management in attracting a high quality workforce; Performing job analysis and classifying position descriptions using the Office of Personnel (OPM) Management Classification Standards; Developing human resources policies in staffing and classification for a federal agency. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for Interpreting and applying recruitment laws and policies to advise managers, employees, and applicants; conducting recruitment, selection, and placement of employees; using HR practices to help attract a quality workforce; performing job analysis and classifying positions per OPM standards; developing staffing and classification policies for a federal agency.
