Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Supervisory Natural Resources Management Specialist: A. Degree: Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience: 1.) Demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of environmental and/or natural resources concepts, principles, and practices in order to provide advisory, planning, and reviewing services regarding the impact of changes to the installation mission and programs. 2.) Developing a budget for assigned program areas to send for higher level review. 3.) Managing contracts for natural or cultural resources support. 4.) Overseeing personnel and work priorities to achieve organizational objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
