To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated below: Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Responsible for overall planning, organizing, improving and implementing behavioral, health issues; Providing psychological care and consultation services, to patients while establishing behavioral health standards of care; providing a wide range of psychological testing, evaluation and clinical services; Providing leadership in the development of policies and procedures, related to outpatient mental health services; Experience in the evaluation and treatment of behavioral, emotional, social and mental health issues in children and adolescents; Experience in the identification, evaluation and treatment of child and adolescent sexual abuse victims and evaluation and management of child and adolescent sex offenders consistent with the models put forth by nationally known experts in the field of psychology.GS-13: 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level; AND; satisfactory completion of Ph.D or equivalent directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR(S): In addition to the minimum requirements, the following license is determined to be essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of a particular position. Applicants who do not meet a selective placement factor are ineligible for further consideration. Completion of a professional psychology internship training program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology is determined to be essential to perform the duties and responsibilities as a clinical psychologist. In order to qualify for this position, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a professional Clinical Psychologist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. This position is located with the Division of Clinical Services, Branch of Mental Health Service at the Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock, NM. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a full time clinical psychologist providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and families, and to a limited number of adults as time permits or is required. Providing comprehensive and skilled psychological evaluations and treatment services.
