Provide course descriptions as necessary. Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-15: One-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. To qualify at this grade level, your resume must reflect one year of GS-14 level experience with ALL of the following: – Coordinating, planning and integrating program segments of professional, scientific, technical, managerial, or administrative work for a national level, multifaceted agency, business, or organization using knowledge of related disciplines to understand the interrelationships between assigned areas of responsibility. – Analyzing workforce capacity, organizational needs, program budgets, performance and staffing trends for a variety of scientific programs in a national level, multifaceted agency, business or organization. – Providing expert level counsel to leadership in a specialty area or program for a multifaceted organization including formulating national policies, objectives and standards. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
This employee supports the USDA Forest Service, Office of the Deputy Chief for Research and Development (R&D) and serves as the Director of the Knowledge Management and Communications work unit. This employee conducts national research scientific integrity and intellectual property processes and R&D research communications and science delivery.
