This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION performing the following: 1) Operating power generation and distribution systems supporting a myriad of industrial and residential operations on the Naval base; 2) Operating control panels that allow remote starting of diesel engine powered generators as well as monitoring commercial power and conversion to auxiliary power systems; 3) Monitoring of voltage and amperage and make exacting adjustments to the system to assure adequate power for load demands; 4) Reading/analyzing a variety of interrelated meter indications to detect abnormal conditions such as, circuit overloads, improper line voltages, or equipment temperature; and 5) Determining the causes of these abnormal conditions and make necessary corrections by adjusting controls.
