Archives Specialist

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To be qualified for this position at the GS-09 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes: Utilizing a wide range of systems or databases to search beyond readily accessible material to locate, analyze, index, and manage records; AND Performing record maintenance and preservation in adherence with archival principles, procedures and record keeping practices. OR Education: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR Combining education and experience: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours may be combined with experience. The total percent of education and experience must equal 100%. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To be qualified for this position at the GS-07 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes: Performing record maintenance and preservation in adherence with archival principles, procedures and record keeping practices; AND Providing customer service and guidance with record research and reference and access services. OR Education: 1 full year of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement. OR Combining education and experience: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. The total percentage of experience and education must equal 100%. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-09, you must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-07, you must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks.
This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbant will perform a broad range of functions required for the acquisition, storage, maintenance, and access of NARAs archival Federal and Court holdings; including holdings management, accessioning, processing, arranging, describing, digitizing, and preserving archival records and providing public services that support.
