Child Care Teacher

Minimum: Two-year degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development or related field of study, which can include Youth Recreation, Physical Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Youth Development, Psychology, Social Work, Home Economics with an emphasis in Human Development, or other degrees as appropriate and two years of experience. Ability to satisfactorily complete background investigation – National Agency Check with Written Inquires (NACI), upon hiring and renew every 5 years. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors. Preferred (in addition to minimum): A BA/BS degree in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other degree appropriate to the position from an accredited college or Associate of Arts (AA) degree and at least 2 years’ experience in childcare or preschool environment.
