Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Mobile Equipment Operator without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties operating various types of motor vehicles, engineering equipment, and material handling equipment, such as a forklift. I can perform basic rigging duties for crane operations. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. – Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles) Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles) and Ability to Operate Safely (Non-Motor Vehicle) Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation) Operation of Motor Vehicles Reliability And Dependability Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) PHYSICAL EFFORT – Physical effort is required to turn the larger and heavier type vehicle, in addition to the smaller vehicles, and to operate the controls. Frequent handling of objects weighing 20 pounds while loading or unloading; making couplings between vehicles such as using heavy chains, bars, hooks, etc., which must be lifted and properly secured. Requires a physical. WORKING CONDITIONS – Vehicles are operated in all types of traffic and weather on depot and public roads. The operator is exposed to the danger of serious accidents. About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available.
