In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Group Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level (or other pay systems) in federal service which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position being filled. Specialized experience is experience gained while providing assistance involved in the recruitment and placement function such as reviewing job requirements in order to identify appropriate recruitment sources, applying specified factors to determine minimum eligibility and rank order applicants on registers, and coordinating external recruitment efforts. OR EDUCATION: Successful completion of one full year of graduate education in a related field. YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT. FAILURE TO SUBMIT YOUR TRANSCRIPT WILL RESULT IN AN INELIGIBLE RATING. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. Knowledge of an extensive body of recruitment and placement rules, procedures, and operations to perform, with the guidance of a specialist, a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard technical work assignments involved in the fill of a variety of lower-graded clerical, administrative, technician, and semi-skilled wage grade positions. 2. Knowledge of Defense Civilian Personnel Data System or an equivalent system to input, store, retrieve data and perform quality review of data elements. 3. Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents, such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters. 4. Ability to learn the use of techniques for applying qualification standards. 5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide support in support of the installation Civilian Personnel Affirmative Employment Office.
