To qualify for this position, applicants must possess 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level, (ZS-II at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in utilizing administrative/clerical skill and automated systems to process time and attendance; make travel and conference arrangements, manage multiple calendars, review correspondence for procedural and grammatical accuracy, respond to non-technical correspondence, maintain an office filing system, compile and enter information into, and retrieve information from various automated programs. OR 4 years of education above high school OR A combination of education and experience AND In addition, applicants must be able to type 40 words per minute. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You will provide administrative support by managing travel authorizations, employee in-processing and out-processing, time and attendance, office supplies, and training documentation, as well as handling phone calls, visitor registration, and file management. You will also assist with scheduling meetings and preparing reports and correspondence using office software.
