For the GS 13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing all of the following: Crafting reports, talking points, briefings, and presentations; Transforming technical information into easily understandable content for internal and external audiences. Developing, coordinating, or executing a strategic communication program; Determining necessary activities and resources for effective change management communication. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a Communications Specialist at the GS-0301-13, you will be part of Retirement Services program, Office of Personnel Management. The incumbent will serve as a confidential advisor and communication specialist supporting vital communications under the guidance of the Deputy Associate Director of Enterprise Enablement (EE). The position has broad responsibility to create communications materials to be distributed to internal and external stakeholders.
