Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1-Year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Install data processing hardware and software patches to ensure information technology systems, software, and procedures meet security requirements; 2) Review system messages to determine system deficiencies and coordinate actions to resolve problems; 3) Prepare classified documents for transfer and ensure couriers are properly cleared and authorized prior to releasing documentation; and 4). Analyze data regarding manpower and equipment to ensure installation readiness. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Attention to Detail Computer Skills Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
