Education Outreach Specialist

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants for all grades must meet the requirements described in paragraphs A or B below: A. You have successfully completed a degree that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position OR B. You have a combination of education and experience — courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study. In addition, in order to qualify for an Education Outreach Specialist, 1701 at the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing and implementing science education programs; analyzing data to create public health education programs; Contributing to the design, creation, and review of educational materials; Identifying demographic trends and gaps relevant to scientific development programs; and Analyzing data to develop reports, strategies, and conclusions for science education programs. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
