Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience which includes 1) conducting investigations/inspections in response to complaints of law and regulation violations; 2) collecting and reviewing information to determine the validity of allegations; 3) training commanders, Soldiers, and Civilians at all levels on current Army policy and doctrine; and 4) preparing recommendations for corrective action. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11). Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted. About the Position: Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment, or change to lower grade not to exceed 13 months by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments or CLGs may exceed 5 years, however return/placement rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
