Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-12: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as having three or more of the following: Providing technical advice, consultation, and assistance to management on a range of budget program issues; and/or Reviewing and editing budget requests to assure that they conform to higher level requirements; and/or Identifying and analyzing trends in the receipt, obligation, or expenditure of funds to ensure that objectives of the annual financial plan were being met on a timely basis; and/or Performing analysis of assigned program budgets and employed techniques such as trend and historical analysis to review funding requests. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is established in the Northern Research Station. The incumbent is responsible for implementing, operating, and maintaining a single integrated financial information system that it is responsive to user and customer needs.
