SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER

There is a Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) to hold a GS-0018 position in the federal service, See the “Education” section of this announcement for more information.. In addition to meeting the IOR, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the management, administration, or operation of a safety and occupational health program. Specialized experience includes performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Serving as a primary program manager for one or more high risk programs such as confined space, fall protection, energy control, electrical safety, etc. 2) Writing policy, identifying hazards (risk management), conducting assurance (inspections, management evaluations, etc.), and conducting promotion activities such as training. 3) Assessing occupational health and industrial safety programs, policies, and practices; identifying and abating of occupational hazards; programming reporting and analysis; establishing enterprise-wide safety goals and priorities; and/or implementing and evaluating the effectiveness, cost, and improvement of the overall occupational health and industrial safety programs. 4) Coordinating and performing safety surveys, assist visits, conducting presentations, on-site visits at activities to assess various aspects of safety and occupational health programs to provide guidance, interpretation, and assistance to corporations, government agencies, and/or military commands to improve their overall safety performance and to reduce the incidence of injuries and mishaps. 5) Analyzing and assisting other analysts, research personnel, and scientists with content analysis, data coding, and quantitative and qualitative analysis by providing risk management insights, information, and expertise.
