The applicant is to provide a separate narrative statement which describes fully, but concisely, how his/her experience supports each of the following Mandatory Technical Qualifications. Each technical qualification narrative should not exceed 2 pages. Failure to address these specific qualifications in a separate narrative statement will eliminate you from consideration: 1. Demonstrated ability to develop, and to assess and analyze feasibility of new concepts related to the development of high-performance hydrocarbon fuels and high-temperature composite material, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, presentations, patents, and licensed technologies. 2. Ability to recruit and mentor new employees including interns, postdoctoral fellows, SMART fellows, interns and journey level employees. Fosters employee development and facilitates cooperation and teamwork. 3. Extensive background in chemical catalysis, synthesis, polymer chemistry, biomanufacturing, synthetic biology, and hybrid approaches (chemical/ biological) for the production of fuels, polymers, and energetic materials. 4. Demonstrated ability to assemble and lead teams, develop project plans and tasking, review proposals, and monitor research contracts with universities, national labs, and corporations focused on the production of high-performance fuels and materials. 5. Demonstrated ability to cultivate and leverage partnerships with academic, national lab, industry and DoD partners. Demonstrated ability to coordinate with senior leaders throughout the NRE (ONR, NRL, NPS, Warfare Centers) other services (AFRL, ARL), DARPA, and OSD to help shape the arc of DoD innovation. You will serve as the Distinguished Engineer/Scientist, High-Performance Fuels and Composites at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake.
