FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing and delivering briefs to senior managers and executives on budget formulation and execution as well as providing recommendations to improve program operations, correct program financial variances or audit problem areas; 2) Recommending financial management policies within the organization based on DON policy and develops and issues implementing procedures; 3) Conducting management evaluation of issues of financial consequences raised in audit reports, budget reviews, and recommends alternatives for corrective action; 4) Planning, organizing, and assigning work to comptroller team members, while providing technical and administrative oversight, advice, or instruction; 5) Validating budget formulation and appropriate use of funds.
