To qualify at the FG/GS-14 level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FG/GS-13 level. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized Experience includes: Developing, maintaining, and revising terminal/enroute instrument flight procedures (IFPs); designing, compiling and maintaining aeronautical charts, related products, and aeronautical information; ensuring IFPs are coordinated and integrated in the NAS to provide safe operation of aircraft; collecting, selecting, analyzing, evaluating, and preparing reliable aeronautical information on navigation and related operations, including publications related to navigation, and delivering technical and non-technical information to a diverse audience; and serving as project manager for multidisciplinary charting and production activities. The incumbent serves as a recognized senior technical specialist and agency expert in planning, organizing, and evaluating the Directorate’s programs concerning Aeronautical Information Services to ensure adequacy, standardization and conformance to policies and standards. The specialist provides advice and counsel to staff and organizational leadership on matters related to the development, coordination, integration, and delivery of Aeronautical products and services.
