GS-06: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) GS-06: There is no substitution of education for experience for this position. Examples of specialized experience include: Completing wildlife habitat project work, and/or assessing wildlife habitat environments, requirements, and inhabitants; and collecting field data on wildlife habitat and vegetation, species condition, location, and status for habitat management and improvement plans. Compiling biological data obtained from aerial and ground surveys to determine vegetation type, wildlife, and livestock use. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position is located on either a Forest Service Research or National Forest unit. The incumbent provides technical assistance to professional research and/or natural resource personnel by accomplishing biological wildlife related support work.
