Supervisor Health Insurance Specialist – Deputy Division Director

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1. Overseeing the development and implementation of policies and operational processes related to the administration of the Medicaid, CHIP or BHP program at the state or federal level; 2. Collaborating with state or national stakeholders to assess and to address technical needs to ensure successful Medicaid, CHIP or BHP program operations; 3. Planning, organizing, assessing work activities to support advancements needed to accomplish the organization’s mission in regard to Medicaid, CHIP and BHP; AND 4. Producing or editing technical Medicaid, CHIP or BHP program policy designs or reports, policy statements at the state or national level as well as other documents (i.e. briefing papers, recommendation reports, decision papers) for senior management decisions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Division of State Coverage Programs (DSCP). As a Supervisor Health Insurance Specialist – Deputy Division Director, GS-0107-14, you will be responsible for providing leadership in providing oversight and establishing policy for Medicaid, the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the Basic Health Program (BHP).
