The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 11/25/2024. Time in Grade does not apply to Delegated Examining Announcements, any reference to Time in Grade in the questionnaire will not apply to the rating and ranking of applicants. GS-05: You qualify at the GS-05 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Using computer software such as spreadsheets, databases, or word processing. Routing office support materials to the appropriate person or location. Interacting with customers. Collecting or distributing information related to workflow and office procedures. OR You may substitute successful completion of four (4) years of education above high school for the experience required at the GS-5 level. This education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester or 45 quarter hours. Appropriate combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience also may be used to meet the total qualification requirements for the GS-5 grade level. GS-06: You qualify at the GS-06 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Reviewing forms or other documents for completeness. Compiling or updating data on spreadsheets. Maintaining office files, records, or databases. Interacting with customers to respond to inquiries or provide information. GS-07: You qualify at the GS-07 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Maintaining files or records and resolving discrepancies. Partnering with managers or employees to resolve clerical challenges. Using various systems to prepare reports. Recommending solutions to administrative problems. This position is located in the Refugee, Asylum & International Operations, Asylum Division, Asylum Field Offices. As a Mission Support Assistant, you will maintain tracking systems, procure routine equipment and services, and maintain office files and records.
