WHO CAN APPLY: GROUP I – All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Member (E3/PFC – E5/SGT) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program. GROUP II – All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Member (E3/PFC – E5/SGT), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period. Military Grades: Enlisted Member (E3/PFC – E5/SGT) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must experience or training controlling, overseeing, coordinating, and/or implementing the specific functions of Aviation Material Repairable Exchange and Hazardous Material identification. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the WG-06 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government? This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the WG grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as: Experience or training identifying and handling hazardous materials in storage areas. Experience being responsible to identify, collect, process and consolidate hazardous waste in preparation for disposal. Experience performing a full range of warehousing activities to include receiving, inspecting for defects, storing, selecting and shipping general or specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment. Experience assisting with the development of facility regulations, and operating instructions that relate to hazardous materials management and HAZMAT safety procedures.
