WOOD WORKER (TITLE 32)

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from date of appointment. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Enlisted – CMF 12, 88, 91, 92 or 94 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the ability to use hand and powered tools, machines, and measuring and squaring devices to cut, nail, staple, screw, bolt or fasten wood and wood-like boards, sheets, parts or sections. WG-08 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 12 months of specialized experience which demonstrates ability to perform a full range of woodworking techniques by planning, constructing, and repairing standardized shipping and storage containers; measuring, developing and laying out changes to existing container plans where specially shaped items require unconventional cradles, blocks, braces or cushioning; making standard joints and grooves; packing methods and techniques; combining and modifying existing plans for conventional containers to construct irregular shaped containers, using standard manual and power woodworking tools; and experience with various types and properties of hard and soft woods and wood composite materials enabling them to select appropriate material, and using various types and properties of fastening devices.
This a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position. This National Guard position is a Permanent WG-4604-08 WOOD WORKER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1218000 and is part of the MO Combined Support Maintenance Shop. This is a bargaining unit position.
