For the IT SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS), GS-2210-15 position you must possess IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. *You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of these four competencies on your resume, if you do not, you will be ineligible for further consideration. In addition to the four competencies you must meet the following: At the GS-15 level, you must meet the following qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position being filled. Specialized experience includes demonstrating accomplishment of IT systems analysis and implementation assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of business requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments in which the applicant analyzed a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects system design, such as what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or software configuration is most appropriate for a given project and implemented such systems within an organization’s current technical operating environment. Only experience obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). A written test is not required. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is part of the Office of the Secretary of Interior, Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR), Director, Information Management and Technology Modernization Office. One position will be filled in one of the following ONRR locations: Location salaries:
