In addition to the above requirements, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field;(Your transcripts must be attached.) For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination (external link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. (Your license or registration must be attached.) Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS 09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, implementing, coordinating, and supervising antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and perioperative care; Monitoring, evaluating and documenting status of laboring patients (blood pressures, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation and fetal monitor) and reporting findings; Administering medications, monitoring patient responds, documenting and adjusting therapy; Setting up delivery room, handling specialized supplies and equipment such as delivery lights, oxygen, suction machines, and maternal and fetal monitoring equipment; Initiating discharge planning/teaching patients about disease process, normal newborn and postpartum care, pre and post-operative care and pre and post diagnostic procedures.
